Happy RANGERversary!!!

James graduated Ranger School exactly one year ago today! Hands-down, one of the best days of my life. Couldn't be more proud to pin that tab on him.  So proud of my Airborne Ranger! Ah.. Fort Benning, Georgia. He was down there for about 7 months (IBOLC then Ranger School) and during IBOLC, I visited him about once a month. Every time I got to visit him, it was like a mini vacation and a weekend affair with my hubby. So I can't help but feel a bit of fondness for that base.  Ranger School was the end of that separation, and I feel a bit jealous of my one-year-ago self. It was kind of a homecoming in itself. It makes me really anxious for this deployment to be over.  *sigh* Just a few more months to go. We can do it.

Ranger Graduation & Deployment News

Omygoodness. It's official. James has been graduated from Ranger School for about a week now. Feels so nice that it's finally over. His graduation was last Friday. I got here on Thursday and he was supposed to be released for his pass sometime between 2 and 4pm that day.. so I got there at 2:30 and waited until 5. :/ But he was the first guy to get to the gate (since he decided to run- typical James) and it felt so good to hug him! Then went out to dinner with his family and I had to drop him off again that night at the Ranger Battalion. That was kind of annoying. I felt like we were at our little Christian college again before we got married and had to say goodnight at curfew. Soo so proud of him though. He was one of around 60something to graduate in one shot out of close to 400 that started in class 08-11. When we got there that Friday morning, it was actually kind of hard to find him in the crowd. But there he is! The one looking at the camera! Ranger School Graduati...

A long awaited phone call!

Yesterday, I knew I was supposed to get a call around dinner time to here if my husband has passed Phase 3 (the final phase) of Ranger School. His last letter had not been a very happy one.. I could tell he was really ready to be done. So our extended families, co-workers and friends were all praying for him.. that the call would be good. My parents and brothers already have plane tickets to go down there. We were really hoping/praying that he would. I had been looking at a lot of army wife/gf/fiance blogs and that was actually really helpful to read their experiences. Most got the call late on Sunday night. One got the call as late as the following MONDAY night. Another said that when her SO did it, the calls started coming at 7pm on Sunday. So I tried to relax all day.. and planed to be at his parents house for when the call came. I got there around 7. 8 O'clock came around and I decided to get on twitter and facebook and do a search for the phrase "Ranger School...
